And so, a majority of the city council once again thumbs their noses at the residents.

Recalling the public meetings relating to ADU’s a few years ago and the substantial objection to the concept, it was approved anyway.

How many more time will the voices of residents be shunned to benefit perceived needs of special interests. Does our only recourse remain in application of ballot Initiatives and Referendums and at what cost?

Another reason to disband the City of Sedona. It is an idea that has proven more trouble than it is worth.

10.4% Sales tax? A fire department with a $12 million plus budget. No city of Sedona, and a Volunteer fire department = BIG TAX SAVINGS.

Ordinarily not a fan of Jenks comments but she’s right on here. Pay attention people, there’s a bill of goods being sold here that doesn’t pass the sniff test. Council ought to go ahead and disband the housing commission in a show of intelligence. If the economy improves, a big if, then revive the commission. It serves no purpose and a few honest councilors know it in private and so speak up in Council. Take a chance on losing those “donor dollars” from “you know who’s” that want the land bought, sold, flipped, etc. Grease the road of truth. Stop playing politics.

The City has no business — none — getting into the housing business. The whole concept is idiotic and will become just another capital black hole.

When news hit some months ago that Council was going to consider invading neighborhoods with this “affordable housing” nonsense, we had considerable concern at our HOA, more than I have seen on any other issue. People do not want this.
