I contacted both Senator Allen’s office and Representative Barton’s office on May 14, 2012 regarding your e-mail statement to me suggesting they may be visiting our event …… They and their office said your message to me was news to them.

Your statement is just another example of why I have little faith in most of those who lead our country.

We had a great litter recovery event due to those fine people that I call “We the people” who showed up and picked up other peoples messes.

To my knowledge, no politicians were there to help …..hum????.

Mayor Adams and City Manager Ernster have been actively involved with our combined efforts to recognize the value of clean highways in the Verde Valley, Sedona, and Arizona. They are also aware that this FVUSA effort exists on both sides of the Mingus Mountains and is gaining state wide and national attention.

This award isn’t about any one single person or group. This award recognizes many individuals, businesses, Adopt-A-Highway Groups and the Arizona Highway Maintenance Departments that have joined forces in an effort to make our communities more appealing to tourists, new residents, new businesses and the possibility of a better economy for our area.

It is my hope that all communities will come together on this topic and ask the questions, “how can I help?”, “what do others see as they travel our highways that would make them want to live among us?” and “why isn’t there a anti-litter message coming from the fast-food and beverage container industry on a local and national level?”

It is a great thing that Mayor Adams and the council members of Sedona gave recognition to Mr Chamberlain and company, on many days they could have packed it in and said why bother, but these true patriotic people are warriors serving the environmental war while others are off fighting for America’s freedom and liberties !

For many people finding time to join Mr Chamberlains highway clean up efforts may not be easily doable, I suggest if you can’t partake in being involved in clean up event, that’s understandable, find out how you can contribute ten dollars to help Gary with bags, beverages, and lunch for these patriotic environmental stewards.
