No one worries about their job if they can’t be done without.

Once again you are using statistics to prove your delusional “facts”. Maybe if you could tell the truth, own up to the fact that you have a personal grudge against Hazime and get your “facts” right people might actually care what you have to say.

Let me give you another fact, the City of Phoenix has 1585 Sworn Firefighters, and 8 battalion chiefs. Sedona has 69 Firefighters and 3 Battalion Chiefs. There used to be four but one position remains unfilled. Efficient staffing, you’ve got to be kidding.

This started around 2002, property values were going up, the mil rate was not changed so the SFD got more and more money. There were two firefighters wives on the Fire Board. They made sure every dime was spent. Hence, the ladder truck. Now Hazime, another firefighter is running for the board, what do you think will happen?

If you want higher taxes vote for Hazime, Cooperman and Schoen. They think we need to spend more.

A comparison of the staffing of other professional Fire Departments demonstrates the efficiency of the Sedona staffing. The taxpayers of Sedona aren’t as stupid as you think. They want professional services and understand what it costs. Hazime, Cooperman, and Schoen are experienced, smart citizens who will make sound financial decisions.

When you hear candidates talk about how we “need money for a new ambulance” or things have been cut to the bone, I would like you to keep in mind a few facts.

One a statement from ex chief Hazime on the minutes of the SFD budget workshop on 4/13/11 ” In my professional opinion, this reduction of 2.5 million from the annual budget could cause loss of of life and property within the Sedona Fire District.”

Second : A finance manager, finance assistant, finance specialist, ambulance billing specialist, and a billing finance clerk, , 5 accounting staff, when timekeeping is done by Telestaff and Payroll by ADP.

Third: SFD has a Chief, assistant chief, 3 Battalion Chiefs, and 15 Captains for 54 engineers and Firefighters. Those 54 who actually will render service and not “supervise” .

The 911 center has 1 supervisor for every 1.8 employees.

There was actually more staff under Hazime. Would you elect him? Only the chief can make personnel cuts, the Board only has budget powers.

The current board is trying to cut without staff reductions. There have been a few people who quit voluntarily. I would not be so kind. Even then the resistance to the Board from the current staff has been intense.

If you want higher taxes vote for Hazime, Cooperman and Schoen. They seem to think we need more staff and equipment.

Really, do you think there is no room for efficiency and cuts in the above staff?
