Vote NO! The Council will raid bigger bucks from the wallets of the 65% of us on the sewer to enable funding of expanded City incompetence under the New Community Plan.

A look at Page 18 of the City of Sedona Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the Fiscal Year Ended June 30, 2013, reveals the current City Council's expenditures exceeded revenue by $1,470,182 last year. Whoa!

The financial reporting awards the City keeps getting aren't worth the paper they're written on. Who knows, perhaps all 91 AZ cities receive them?

Vote against ALL incumbents come the November city council election(s), too.

I agree Ruth! Just because you disagree with another persons opinion does not make it negative. Opinions are suppose to be heard. Trying spin it so that anyone that disagrees with your opinion is negative, interesting. I say you have some control issues. The only thing I see that is negative is that attitude. Accept others and their opinion. Go with the flow.

I voted no on the new community plan as I see to many ways things can be interpreted. I do not want any multifamily housings or community events in residential zoned subdivisions. The old community plan protected us from this, this one not. I want my peace and quite, less government telling me how to live. I moved here to get out of City.

You do see dozens of headlines there Boys? You boys must be a competitor or you're part of our government. Each always speaks with the same voice to its consumers when accountability and transparency issues are at hand. I've enjoyed the letters to the editor section more than any other area for its one two punch.

I will be voting on the community plan. Appreciated the information here. Keep up the fine work and don't pay attention to those writing about how discontented they are because for the life of me I can't figure out why anyone minds information and opinions. Keeps the mind lively.

@Rick You state this web site "feeds on negativity and bashing others disguised as uncovering and reporting on the truth… I had to see for myself. Wow, it’s true. How sad."

You fail to include that as being YOUR OPINION or are you in denial that others who stand to be taxed out of their homes also are entitled to express their views? You are non-specific about where you actually reside except only as being a "long time member of the Verde Valley community" which doesn't indicate one way or another if you are even a registered Sedona voter.

Your interpretation of this web site shows your own judgmental slant. Why not practice what you preach?

WOW Sharlett it seems you cast your vote because of a stick figure or your interpretation one. But then again, after reading all of your postings it seems that you're just against anything positive that the city does or tries to do.

As for Sandi, you say that "I did attend tons of meetings. The ones I missed I watched online", where those meetings that you attended the ones at the middle school, or the open meetings around town conducted by city people or perhaps some of those meetings in a box? I must admit that I attended each and every one because I really wanted to get facts about the process. I walked away very informed. It was refreshing that members of the community could actually participate in the shaping of a community.

As for Rick, you are SPOT ON! I completely agree with your feelings.

Great points @Sandi. I have first hand experience with the community plan. I recently looked at buying a property that would have been a perfect B&B. Since I was unsure zoning I called over to City Hall. I got Audrey on the phone. She was fabulous. Answered all my questions and let me know to use the community plan. It is the city policy.

Audrey was also kind of enough to tell me that the new plan was going to be voted on in March so not to forget to review that as if I acquired the property after it got approved the new policy would be implemented. I am thankful for Audrey's information. She wisely directed me to the right policy for me to make the right decision.

So the community plan sets the policy. Personally I prefer clearer policies. Less is more. Keeping in mind I professionally approved policy and procedures for medical device companies.

I proudly voted NO for many reasons. All of them positive ones. Speaking up is a positive tool to make change. Listening to a different opinion helps us learn and grow. Change makes improvements & better tomorrows. The more everyone speaks up the more we learn and grow. All positive in my opinion.

Thankful we have the opportunity. Thanks SedonaEye!
