City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Department has moved its water aerobics program indoors for the winter. Ongoing for several years now, this year-round program is available to adults of most physical fitness levels who are interested in adding variety to their workout routines. Water aerobics is a leader in low impact aerobic exercise, allowing the participant to work at their own pace while toning muscles, working range of motion and getting their heart rate moving. New this winter we have added Aqua Zumba to our weekly schedule.

Beginning Monday, November 11, 2013, participants can enjoy water aerobics and AquaZumba on Monday through Thursday mornings from 9 a.m.to 10 a.m. at the Villas of Sedona indoor swimming pool. Located at 120 Kaloff Place, it is conveniently located for the Sedona community to drive to and attend a great class.

The class fee is $5 per class, or for your convenience, we offer discounted punch passes. Save 20% by purchasing an $80 pass good for 20-visits, or a $40 pass good for 10-visits. Passes do not expire until the punches are used.

For more information, please contact Parks and Recreation at 282-7098 or visit www.SedonaAZ.gov/Parks.

Beginning November 1, 2013, work will begin on Airport Road for the continuation of the Oak Creek Water Company Waterline Installation Project. Work is scheduled to take place intermittently from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will continue through the middle of November.

Traffic restrictions will be in effect. The work zone will require a lane closure and flaggers and traffic control devices will control the flow of traffic safely through the work zone. The work zone is located approximately 850 feet north of the Airport Scenic Overlook.

Please allow extra time for your daily travels, slow down, and obey all flaggers, traffic control devices and detour routes.

For any questions, please contact Paul Zach, Field Manger with Kinney Construction, LLC at 928-779-2820. We thank you in advance for your patience.

Very interesting. "MANDATORY pre-bid conference" being called for a "Transit Shelter Project" to include "plans and specifications" for consideration?

What a novel concept considering the City Council based on their own discretion (complimented by Staff recommendation) just approved a million $$+ contract with the Chamber of Commerce for Destination Marketing minus any such competitive bidding. Also "plans and specifications" remain conspicuous by absence.

At least we now know some folks at City Hall are actually aware that such a system of competitive bidding actually exists.
