Who’s McGarry? What’s his platform & why is he wanting to get on the council? Who does he support for mayor in the next election? My opinion on the councilors is that the other two Lamkin & Thompson led us down this high tax & spend path and helped give money to nonprofits that didn’t need it to appease the people with clout that the chamber was getting too much. Everybody at city hall believes they’ll “hunker in place” with their steady flow of payroll checks & their undeserved cash payments from the government & count it as a staycay. SO NO TAX. NOW. WAIVE IT UNTIL THE JUNE FISCAL YEAR END. LIVE WITHIN THAT BUDGET @CITY HALL. IF TOURISTS PAY THE MOST TAX & THEY AREN’T COMING, THEN STOP GOUDGING THE RESIDENTS AND LIVE WITHIN A LOCAL TAX REVENUE BUDGET. NO TAX. NO TAX. NO TAX. (caps for reason) Stop funneling money to nonprofits and chamber of commerce and TURN OFF THE TAX TAP. No more tax revenue for the city until end June. NO MORE DEBT SERVICE FOR THE RESIDENTS TO REPAY WHEN THE TOURISTS GO AWAY LIKE TODAY.

Of course Hudson’s replacement will be a chamber sponsored person or someone else who is tight with the current city management. The current crop of city council candidates up for election don’t even bother to tell us their positions on the shameful overfunding of the chamber and underperforming of city services.

The pandemic is a mess and is taking a terrible toll on so many, but it has been bliss not to have to fight traffic or cope with the noise and trash from Sedona’s over-tourism.

How much do you want to bet that Hudson’s replacement will be a chamber sponsored candidate. Probably a chamber or “sustainability” group member, that will go along with the current tourists come first program. We can manage bumper to bumper traffic after all.

Searched her on this site because couldn’t remember her and guess you could say Sedona got what they voted for after all if you use this letter as a reference. Wish I’d read it before I voted but I’ll remember before voting next time about the others.
