There is hope as long as there are people like this writer who can analyze and not be taken in by political spin. Social scientists have known that government figures and pronouncements, even those that may be factual, are intentionally “misinterpreted” according to the political ideology of its recipients. So there is enough blame to go around. We can be a better nation if we are all “centrists” with healthy skepticism re our government and “leaders”.
