Have been reading all the above comments and just come back to one concept that calls out to me: "In my opinion it is sad that his death is a means to continue some sort of political crap for your own benefits".

Move on people and show some respect for a poor soul lost.

Well the sheer determination by this Sharlett to remain so disrespectful to those who express concerns about a specific portion of the suicide report is becoming even more suspicious. What could possibly be the reason this alleged woman remains so unmindful of the portion about first responders being put in danger because of a sudden flash flood? And she claims to care about them?

Forked tongue is a good description of this two-faced individual who ignores the overall situation in favor of focusing on the damnation of all that don't agree with her. And now the alliance from the unknown number of residents in West Sedona that speak in her defense? The commonality? Quite possibly the fear that precious dollars being given to the regional Chamber of Commerce might be better spent on improving infrastructure conditions, such as Drainage Master Plan, for public safety in general. How much money to Missy Sharlett might be in jeopardy if those funds were no longer available to those benefiting? Then to camouflage her cause by using religion? Phony, phony, phony.

Just another point of view here. And BTW, most people that commented were at least polite enough to acknowledge the right of others to express differing opinions, but not Miss S. Maybe the lady(?) doth protest too much? A person most definitely to be shunned instead of encouraging her repetitive attacks on those without tunnel vision.

Let me repeat myself: sharlett says:

"Bless all our first responders and their dedication!"

sharlett says:

October 6, 2015 at 8:57 pm

I am going to say – One more time – that my response to this article was simply to praise and give credit to our first Responders! How those grateful words got taken so far off track is just so wrong and self serving – on all responders posts…and I believe all should hang your heads and pray for forgiveness’.

How simple is it to thank the responders who had to deal with the jumper…..and at the same time I feel very sorry for the guy who jumped. Is it wrong to do either?

And how right would it be to not interject personal political attacks when a man took his own life?

@Cowards - And just who are you, really? You set a contrary example to what you are preaching since apparently you seek your "cloak of secrecy" because you wouldn't have the courage to post your words under your real name? And why is that?

What do you mean by "you don't need to tell the truth if you're going to be held accountable." Then does mean mean the only ones accountable are those that don't use their real name and write lies?

@Karen, you are wrong! People say things under the cloak of secrecy that they wouldn't have the courage to say if their name were published! Plus, you don't need to tell the truth (obviously), if you're going to be held accountable!!!

Lin, In all honesty what's it matter? It shouldn't. Words are the point & not the name & besides when a person knows a name it signals slants with reader & writer opinions. Maybe anonymously is best in short & long run? Point is that comments speak to us even if we don't know the person commenting. I like to see a person's name but honestly I'm a busy woman & know few beyond work relationships in the area. Doesn't matter what name is on the comment, I read it.

Based on a true story. A man was in a car crash and was in the car, without a pulse for an hour and a half, while EMT's and police waited for the coroner to pronounce him dead before he can be moved. A man comes along, who feels led to pray for the victim, gets in the car and starts to pray while singing praise songs. The 'dead' man starts singing along and EMT's confirm he now has a pulse. The victim fights his recovery, as he is angry that he was in heaven, only to have God bring him back in incredible pain. Was there a purpose to his return to earth?
