I'll be voting NO.

I'll let Edmund D.Kahn of Prescott explain why:

Argument against the proposed increase in the Yavapai Jail District Sales Tax: The Jail Tax is a Bad Tax: Originally Sales Taxes were sold to us tax payers as a small burden of as little as 1%. But, our politicians grab this tax like a lemon and squeeze it, and us, until we now have a sales tax burden that includes a tax on food and household necessities and totals 10 + %. And, we also encourage "tourism" (ie: public welfare to the chamber of commerce and hotel industry) by taxing tourists for the bed they hope to sleep on. Enough is more than enough. No more increases in our sales tax. If we really need something like a new jail, cut something from the budget that we do not absolutely need, and, finally, not spend thousands of tax dollars to promote this latest tax increase. Force our politicians to wake up, set priorities and spend our money ONLY on the basics; VOTE NO TO THIS LATEST TAX INCREASE!
