BOULDER, Colo. – Tens of thousands of people were ordered to flee their homes Thursday as several wind-driven wildfires burned near Boulder and Denver, Colorado, blanketing the area in smoke and destroying hundreds of buildings.
The National Weather Service called it a “life-threatening” situation, as gusts over 100 mph were reported in the region, fanning the flames. Officials suspected some of the fires may have been sparked by downed power lines….

By endowing such a special interest organization annually with literally millions of dollars – yes, folks, that’s MILLIONS OF $$$$ – doesn’t it “blighten?” the mere concept of incorporating a city/town? ANY of them although we’ve yet to learn of another incorporated berg that’s been so inconsiderate and reckless to do such an unspeakable thing.

Why didn’t the big shots select the Elks, Kiwanis, Boy/Girl Scouts or a multitude of more deserving nonprofits to be so generously endowed? And yea, we know the C of C doesn’t include the 501-C3 tax deductible designation. So what?

Blight on Sedona? The ongoing over two million dollar annual contract with a regional group. The same goes for the Sedona visitor’s center uptown – also financed with city revenue but clearly identified as the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center and on record ONLY promotes chamber members. Blight? Understatement?
