Singer-Songwriter Severin Browne was a recording artist and staff-songwriter at Motown Records in the 70’s. His two albums on Motown Records, “Severin Browne” released in 1973 and “New, Improved Severin Browne” released in 1974, both received good reviews and solid sales numbers. He has shared either stages or recording studios with his brother Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, J.D. Souther, Kenny Rankin, John Hartford, Kenny Edwards, Sloan Wainwright, Jennifer Warnes, The Kingston Trio, Delaney Bramlett, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee, Freebo, James Lee Stanley, Penny Nichols, Country Joe & The Fish, and many more. His songs have been recorded by Thelma Houston, Colin Blunstone, Twiggy, Patti Dahlstrom, David Roth, Freebo, James Lee Stanley, Alfred Johnson, The Dillards, Elderlocke, and Pamela Stanley, who had a Disco hit with Severin’s “I Don’t Want To Talk About It”. Four of his songs were used in the film “Plan B” starring Jon Cryer. Severin also co-wrote two songs for the English release of the Japanese animated hit movie “My Friend Totoro” released in the US on Fox.

Severin’s two post-Motown CDs, “From The Edge of The World” released on Moo Records in 1966, and “This Twisted Road” self-released in 2001, also got great reviews. “From The Edge of The World” is now out of print, but “This Twisted Road” is currently available at http://www.cdbaby.com/severin, and individual downloads of songs from that CD can be purchased anywhere that digital downloads are sold. Severin is currently working on a new yet-to-be-titled CD.

As a songwriting teacher, Severin has led songwriting workshops since 2001. His “Song Starting” workshops have led many to write very good songs. “I really appreciate his patience, and his knowledge.
