Personally I am sick to death of all the hatefullness of this SFD election--pitting neighbor against neighbor, friend against friend, signs being defaced, newspapers and radio stations being castigated for reporting or carrying advertisements--has it occurred to anyone that the discussion and the hate-mongering is ultimately about saving a lousy $50 to $100 even if ALL the cuts that are being argued about are implemented? In the meantime, we have about the best and most modern service in the state payable at far less than most of us paid in the states we moved from, and we live in a state and an area of the high desert that is not well-served by the greatest of medical facilities--and we want to DECREASE our good but not superlative fire and emergency response FOR WHAT REASON? For enough dollars to spend on ONE DINNER at Cuchina Rustica or Cowboy Club!!!! I don't get it, Sedona. We are a city of OLD PEOPLE with OLD PEOPLE HEALTH ISSUES and you are arguing against a system in place that does a good job! I don't give a flying leap whose on what slate--I don't know any of them personally and could really care less who wins knowing that what I think is common sense isn't shared by many governing in Sedona-but before you vote to change something, think about it with less than rhetoric and mud-slinging and YOUR WALLET'S DOLLARS. Grow up and stop acting like children arguing over marbles on the playground. There are no winners here, only lives that may or may not be lost because of a few measly dollars. Buy a cheap car, walk to the store, eat at home...that is worth getting a lather up about. To dismantle what isn't perfect and make it even less--that is what Sedona seems to prefer.
