Most people are welcoming and treat us snowbirds well and there’s no crime that we know of but we’re not naive of course to think it’s utopia. This website keeps us informed while we travel. A civic duty is an action or responsibility expected of every member of a society. Generally accepted examples include obeying laws, serving on juries, paying taxes to the government, voting in elections and doing volunteer work. Many believe these civic duties are the basic tenets of citizenship.

Well it’s very possible the comment from Chief McGill will be his last on Sedona Eye. Maybe after he officially begins his job he will be informed of the code of silence with city staff and city council which to date the standard commitment from any of them is that they “don’t read Sedona Eye.” That’s a shame. They might learn something.

Agreeing with those extending a warm welcome to Chief David McGill, it still is baffling when people like Steve Segner speak from both sides of their mouths. He writes of people from California moving to Sedona because they wanted a change to a small town, and yet over and over he suggests and supports changes to Sedona that create the exact opposite. He compares us to Chandler, Scottsdale, and all the time California big cities. Forked tongue, Mr. Segner. Isn’t that also a snake like characteristic?

Please stretch yourself to make the huge attempt of making sense!!!

Seems the biggest problem in Sedona is all the people – like Segner – who want to re-create or transform this town into their image of where they left!

Segner is Another one who just drools at the mouth in parading California as the best example of the best place to live – – – – while he ran from Calif !!! Now “He knows best on everything” is our very own (how did we get so lucky) vice mayor – Mr John Martinez – or as he is know behind the scenes with the locals – “mr. califedona” .

My take of why so many people come to AZ is because they are seeking a much lower tax rate, less governmental infringements and strangling regulations…and while they do have some money to spend – well that doesn’t mean they have the best interest of our small town at heart…….what they have at heart is the sound of money!!!
