Having been certified by the National Wildlife Federation as an official Wildlife Habitat, for years a tasteful sign was posted on OUR property (referring to my late husband who was a major participant in attaining our cerfificate).

Sometime, presumably in October when I first took notice, the sign was clumsily removed, possibly by some angy person(s) who left one screw in the fence to which the sign was attached along with splinters itself. I suspect it was promptly disposed of by being dumped in my own trash container which, when out front, is placed adjacent to where the sign once was located.

There is no doubt in my mind this was an act of vandalism; but without evidence, obviously, I'm unable to validate my suspicions.

My files contain substantial evidence to uphold the sign as having been within city code provisions, if for no other reason than "grandfather" status. Besides the date the certificate was issued, a small article appeared in the Sedona Red Rock News validating the time of our achievement.

That being said, I've ordered and received new signage from the National Wildlife Federation and will post it in a less accessible location on my property. And, guess what, my yard heretofore will be substantially supplied with "game cameras" to capture potential two-footed critters who, in my opinion, are much more of a nuisance that the four-footed variety.

Thank you for the great information provided in the above report.
