Work will begin on Monday, Oct. 28 on White Spar Road (State Route 89) in Prescott as part roadway improvement project from Copper Basin Road to Peterson Lane (mileposts 309 to 310), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Work hours are Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Crews will start on the north end of the project near Copper Basin and begin working on the north side of the roadway on the shoulders. Two lanes of traffic will remain open at all times, minimal delays are expected.

The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph through the work zone. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage.

The $4.6 million project includes widening the highway to include a two-way left turn lane and construction of new concrete curbs, gutters, bike lanes and sidewalks from Peterson Lane to Copper Basin Road.
