Pavement striping on I-17 scheduled south of Flagstaff/Left lane of southbound I-17 closed during work hours

FLAGSTAFF – Crews will apply permanent striping and roadway markers on a 10-mile segment of southbound I-17 south of Flagstaff beginning Thursday (April 12), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The work is the final phase of a $2.8 million project to repave the roadway. The paving, including a layer of quiet rubberized asphalt, was completed last fall.

The work will begin at Schnebly Hill Road, just south of Flagstaff (milepost 320) and continue south for 10 miles. Work hours are 7 a.m. to sundown April 12 through April 19.

The left lane will be closed during work hours. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph throughout the work zone.

There is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. Drivers are reminded to slow down, proceed through the work zone with caution, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
