The 89A Referendum Vote Will Be Meaningful

Stand Up for Our Main Street!

Last night’s (June 28th) City Council 89A results:

A letter (handed out publicly at last night’s meeting) was received from ADOT June 27th. It is attached as a pdf which everyone should be able to read.

At the council meeting, after much discussion, council agreed to instruct staff to send ADOT a letter with 4 items:

1- advising them of the date of the referendum (November 8)

2- expressing the city council’s preference that they would delay any action until the referendum

3- suggesting that they include in their bidding contracts and opt out clause
whereby they could exclude the lights from the projects if the referendum supports the route transfer decision

4- asking ADOT if they would discuss some daytime options with the city to be included in this process.
