Southbound Interstate 17 just north of the McGuireville traffic interchange (mileposts 295-297) will be narrowed to one lane from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 23 and 24, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The lane closure will provide a safe work zone for ADOT crews as they remove debris from the shoulder.

Night work for climbing lane project scheduled to begin next week 1/20/13 - Lane restrictions on southbound I-17 expected during work hours.

Crews will begin overnight work with the set up of temporary concrete barrier on Interstate 17 south of Camp Verde next week, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Drivers can expect alternating lane restrictions overnight on southbound I-17 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday as crews begin work on the third traffic lane in two separate areas near Camp Verde (mileposts 280-287).

In addition to lane restrictions at night, crews will be performing work during the daytime near the shoulder that will require intermittent shoulder closures between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through the project work area.

The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
