City of Sedona Update on Winter Storm Warning

The City of Sedona is receiving regular updates regarding a winter storm affecting Northern Arizona and Coconino County, including the Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona area through January 1, 2011.

The National Weather Service has issued a major storm warning above 4,000 feet through Thursday, December 30, 2010. Precipitation will increase across northern and central Arizona as a strong cold front approaches from southern California. Accumulating snow is expected to fall in lower elevations on Thursday.

The City of Sedona should be minimally impacted, but is prepared with any possible snow plowing to keep streets cleared.

For up to date weather information, go to www.weather.gov/flagstaff and for current road conditions, please call 511 or visit www.az511.com.

Updates will be posted to the City of Sedona website at www.SedonaAZ.gov. For additional information, please contact Public Works at 204-7111.
