Man passing counterfeit money for store purchase.

Sedona AZ (October 14, 2018) – On October 13, 2018, around 7:30 in the evening, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Family Dollar store on East Hitching Post Way, Cordes Lakes, AZ. The reporting party told deputies that a man and woman came into the store around 6:30 p.m., shopped, and paid cash for their items at the register with counterfeit $100 bills.

The couple (see photos) was captured on the store surveillance camera footage.

The male was described as Caucasian, about 6 feet tall, grey buzzed hair, a goatee, and wearing a black jacket. The female was described as dark skinned, approximately 5’5″ with black hair bleached blond and shoulder length, wearing a black shirt and black athletic pants. They made separate transactions at the register, each paying with a fraudulent $100 bill. The register employee was unsure of the authenticity of the currency initially until review by a supervisor confirmed the bills as counterfeit.
