Porschae Renee Page arrested

Sedona AZ (June 22, 2015) – On June 18, 2015, just before 10:00 at night, a YCSO K9 deputy arrested Porschae Renee Page, 28, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Christopher Michael Johnson, 30, also from Minneapolis, after locating marijuana, over $20,000 in cash, and fraudulent credit cards during a traffic stop. Both were arrested on valid Federal arrest warrants.

The K9 deputy stopped a red Jeep Compass for moving violations on southbound Arizona I-17 near Highway 179. During contact with the driver, Porschae Page, the deputy detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A warrant check revealed Page had an active fraud identity theft federal warrant. Her passenger, Christopher Johnson, provided fake identification to the deputy, however, once his true name was confirmed, deputies discovered he was also wanted on a similar federal warrant.

Both warrants indicated no bond holds.

Both were booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center and remain in-custody. The currency is being held as evidence pending a money laundering investigation.

On Sunday, June 21, 2015, at 12:30 in the morning, YCSO deputies were called to an area along the Verde River, north of Clarkdale, Arizona. A woman needed help after becoming stranded by nightfall in a canyon.

The caller stated that his girlfriend, 33, and their two sons, ages 6 and 7, had been hiking along the river. Around sunset, he and the boys decided to return to their motor home which required a nearly 200’ climb up a canyon wall. His girlfriend stayed back and once darkness fell, she felt unable to climb out on her own. The caller said she did not have a flashlight or cell phone, was not dressed for cold weather, and was distressed. At the scene, deputies could hear the subject in the canyon, but could not understand her.

Once it was determined the woman was not in immediate distress, the team escorted her out via a wash and reunited her with awaiting family around 5:00 a.m. The family is very appreciative of the YCSO and its Back Country rescue team for working throughout the night to insure her safety.

Although the family should have concluded the hike earlier to avoid darkness and steep terrain when returning to camp, they did the right thing on behalf of their stranded hiker by summoning rescue professionals. There was a very obvious risk of injury if she had tried to climb or hike out in no moon darkness in unfamiliar canyon terrain.
