Yavapai College OLLI Winter 2012 Catalog

Sedona AZ (December 6, 2011) – Yavapai College’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) of Sedona and the Verde Valley has begun registration for its winter 2012 session. OLLI is a dynamic organization within Yavapai College created to meet the needs of intellectually active mature adults. What makes OLLI a unique learning experience? OLLI is a warm gathering of people who are endlessly curious and love to learn without the pressure of tests, grades, or papers.

The winter term begins on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Offerings include over seventy learning groups and twenty workshops from which to choose at the Yavapai College campuses in Sedona and Clarkdale. OLLI learning groups six to eight week classes meet weekly. There are traditional learning group favorites that will offer Intermediate Dog Obedience, Exploring the Verde ValleyWWII Veterans Share Stories, Meditative Hikes and Chilel Qigon to name but a few.

The Winter Session will premier new learning group offerings including Power of Natural Healing, Self-Discovery through Writing, Do it Yourself Massage, the God Question, and Nutrition for Balanced Health.  For those that cannot commit to a learning group, there are fascinating and engaging workshops and presentations offered.

Themes of workshops and presentations will cover emergency preparedness, spirituality, earthquakes, multiculturalism, music appreciation and more. Detailed explanations of classes and workshops can be found at www.yc.edu/olli under OLLI of Sedona and the Verde Valley.

This winter, the Osher Lifelong Learners organization is featuring an “OLLI Friend-raising” event. OLLI members can invite a friend to sample an OLLI session free.
