Sedona AZ (June 11, 2013)Mary Brown has joined Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, as the new Nursing Program Director, replacing Chris Witbeck, now with the Veterans Administration hospital in Prescott.

Brown comes to Prescott from Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she served as a department chair of its nursing program. She has more than twenty years of experience in a community college school of nursing.

“I am honored to have been selected as the new director,” said Brown. “Yavapai College has a well-respected nursing program, and the students are very successful in passing their national nursing board exam upon graduation to become Registered Nurses. Yavapai College is responding to the need for nurses to be skilled in information technology by incorporating an electronic health records system into the classroom and the clinical lab settings in the fall semester. We will also be enhancing critical thinking and skill acquisition in a safe, friendly environment while maintaining the same high academic standards that the people of Yavapai County have come to expect from their college.”
