Yavapai College 44th Commencement Schedule

Yavapai College logoSedona AZ (April 29, 2014)The Yavapai College 2014 graduation class includes 1,377 students receiving degrees or certificates during YC’s 44th Annual Commencement ceremonies this May. Yavapai College will hold five commencement ceremonies celebrating the accomplishments of students and those who support them.

“These events acknowledge the hard work and sacrifices made by both the students and their support networks,” notes Bob Hoskovec, Director of YC Student Life. “Students deserve to take that walk and be applauded for completing the educational program that will help sustain them throughout their lives.”

The following ceremonies are scheduled:

Nursing Pinning Ceremony: Wednesday, May 7, 2014, begins at 3:00 p.m. and will be held in the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center, Prescott Campus.

Northern Arizona Regional Training Academy (NARTA) Graduation: Thursday, May 8, 2014, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and held in the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center, Prescott Campus. Graduating Officer Julio Meza, a member of the Prescott Police Department, will speak for the NARTA Class 36 grads.

Verde Valley Campus Commencement: Friday, May 9, 2014, begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Mabery Pavilion, Verde Valley Campus, Clarkdale campus. Dorothy “Madison” Maher, All-USA Academic Team and 2014 Outstanding Student in Communication, will be the student speaker at the ceremony.

Prescott Campus Commencement: Saturday, May 10, 2014, begins at 6:00 p.m. and held in the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center, Prescott Campus. Taylor Haynes, a member of the All-USA Academic Team and a 2014 Coca-Cola Silver Scholar, will deliver the student address at this ceremony.

GED Graduation: Saturday, May 24, 2014, begins at 12:00 p.m. at the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center, Prescott Campus. Student speakers will be Guadalupe Astorga, GED grad from the Prescott Campus, and Jennifer Larm, GED grad from the Verde Campus.

Yavapai College opened in 1969 and provides quality higher learning, cultural resources and economic development support for the diverse populations of Yavapai County. The College offers a wide range of academic programs to students at the College’s centers in Prescott (main campus), Clarkdale (the Verde Valley Campus), Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Sedona, and the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) near the Prescott Airport, Prescott.
