Sedona AZ (April 13, 2015) – On April 9, 2015, at approximately 5:15 in the evening, a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled over a black Volkswagen sedan after it failed to stop while turning from eastbound Donegal Drive onto Arizona State Highway 89, near Wilhoit, Arizona. The Volkswagen was driven by Shaun Pfaff, 37, of Wilhoit, with a female passenger in the car.

During contact with the pair, the deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle interior. Pfaff denied possessing marijuana, but allowed the deputy to search his vehicle. While checking the trunk, the deputy located a glass pipe along with marijuana in baggies and a glass jar, all wrapped in a sweater.

The quantity of marijuana seized was nearly four ounces. During further investigation at the traffic stop location, the deputy developed information indicating the likelihood of a large quantity of marijuana stored inside Pfaff’s home. A search warrant was sought and granted for his home in the 8200 block of Northridge Drive, Wilhoit.

Deputies searched Pfaff’s home and found numerous drug production items, including in excess of five pounds of marijuana, some in cold storage, packaged for sale and identified by strain. Additional items seized included paraphernalia, marijuana grow diagrams, cultivation items, grow lamps, fans, and irrigation supplies. Deputies also found pay/owe ledgers, over $3000 in cash, several firearms, and prescription medications.

Early Friday morning, April 10, 2015, Pfaff was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges including Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Production of Marijuana, and Possession of Deadly Weapon during the commission of a Felony. Pfaff remains in custody on $200,000 bond. His passenger was not held.
