Water for Sedona?

Sedona AZ (August 2, 2010) – The following is a letter to the SedonaEye.com editor from a Flagstaff, Arizona, resident:

The Flagstaff Water Commission voted to go ahead with a plan to sell over three billion gallons of Flagstaff drinking water to a private company for snowmaking. The decision was made because of pressure from the USDA.

If the city of Flagstaff diverts 3 billion gallons of water from the aquafir then how will that impact Sedona, and the areas below?  No study has been done.  The city council will vote this month and the Federal Government has stated they will provide the business owner with 11 million taxpayer dollars to build the water thirsty pipe.  He is ready to begin this fall.

Please contact the Flagstaff City Council at 928-779-7600.  Also, there will be a polite protest to save our water at Flagstaff City Hall, Saturday August 7th, at 9:00 o’clock a.m.
