Vince Rabago – Candidate Arizona Attorney General – Democrat (Primary

SEDONA AZ–“I have dedicated my life to the mission of justice,” Democratic candidate for Arizona Attorney General Vince Rabago said. “With sixteen years at the level of Attorney General’s office, both here and in California. I have experience with criminal cases and civil fraud in the last five years. I have worked on consumer protection fraud cases and have eleven years in Criminal Law. I have experience at the highest levels of State and Federal Court, and I am the only candidate who has done a case of murder, robbery or rape. I have true “tough on crime” credentials and I am the only candidate raised in rural Arizona, in Douglas, Cochise County. I understand that we are one big state with a lot of different needs.”

Having grown up on the Arizona border, Vince Rabago commented that “Nobody was going to lecture him about border issues or border security.” Democrat Robago said that he understands what is going on at the border is important. “Pursuing the mission of justice is what I have devoted my life too, fighting for the underdog. At the end of the day, my decision was to see that we have the strongest candidate to bring common sense and bold vision to move us forward in these difficult times.”

Democratic candidate for Attorney General Robago continued, “I am down to earth, drive a pick-up truck, wear boots, sometimes wear a hat. In a funny way, I represent both the past and the future of Arizona. I have lived in small towns and big cities like Phoenix, Tucson and San Diego.”

Democrat Robago cites his experience in convicting hardened murderers, as well as convictions against national companies and has worked hard to get predators off the Internet. The Democratic candidate was a member of a state working group that dealt with privacy laws and Internet safety. Robago believes that  there is always a balance to be struck between privacy and safety, but it is a strong supporter of the Constitution.

“I filed briefs in the United States Supreme Court for both Arizona and California including murder,” Attorney General candidate Rabago said. “And I also teach at the University of Arizona law school, on Constitutional law and the death penalty. I’ve also been a spokesperson on national issues that the state has taken before Congress, and before the Federal Reserve Board. I actually did some work on “truth in billing” before the SEC. So I have a broad perspective on the office, criminal and civil matters. I’m not just a bureaucrat.”

The Arizona candidate has four points that he would like to emphasize: One, Robago wants to investigate the CEOs of national banks saying “When the current mortgage situation is compared to the Savings and Loan meltdown in 1987, a large number of officials went to jail but today, there are no investigations or convictions. Instead the bankers are getting bonuses and bail outs.”

Candidate Robago’s second issue is to address border security, cartels and traffickers. His third issue is to protect seniors, children and consumers. The Attorney General candidate cites his experience with mortgage fraud and privacy theft.

Robago was also part of a team that investigated student lending practices and created a code of conduct for student loan lenders across the state.

Lastly, Vince Robago indicated that he intends to focus on identity theft. The Democratic candidate for Arizona Attorney General Rabago said, “We are number one in the country for identity theft. It is unacceptable that Arizona is number one, three years in a row. We need better collaboration and someone in office who can bridge the technology gap.”
