Verde Valley School 2013 Graduation Activities

Sedona AZ (May 27, 2013) – Graduation festivities and end of school honors begin with Baccalaureate Night on Friday, May 31, 2013, and conclude with the 63rd Verde Valley School (VVS) Commencement and the graduation of the Class of 2013 on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. on the Quad.

Parents of seniors are invited to a reception and dinner Friday at the Head of School’s house: The reception begins at 5:00 in the evening, followed by dinner for seniors and parents at 6:00.

All parents are invited to the VVS year-end celebration, known as Baccalaureate Night, at 8:00 in the evening that same night in Brady Hall. Make sure you include some time to take in the end of year visual arts show in Avery Gallery. Baccalaureate Night awards presentation will end at 9:00 p.m.

Seniors and their families are invited to a continental breakfast at the Head of School’s house starting at 8:00 in the morning of Saturday, June 1. The Class of 2013 graduation ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the Quad. Aspen Country Day School Head of School John Suitor will deliver this year’s commencement address. Everyone is invited to join us for lunch in the Dining Hall following the ceremony.

Four Year Seniors Cristian Gallardo, Christian Ruiz, Sean Bresnan, Sam Grandaw, Jennie Isidro, Rai Haynes-Venerable, Jia Wang, Sam Miles, Daiwei Yu, Christopher Alagna, Ilya Filatov, Habiba Warren-Olson and Matthew Schupack at Junior Senior Dinner in April. They will join the other 17 members of the Senior class as the 63rd graduating class of Verde Valley School.

VVS seniors Vicky Wu, Christian Ruiz, Rai Haynes-Venerable, Jennie Isidro, Habiba Warren-Olson, Sonata Brokeviciute, Ilya Filatov and Blue Sheffer will speak at commencement with Amy Gao, Sam Grandaw, Christopher Alagna, Matthew Schupack and Sean Bresnan in performance during commencement.

Friday, May 31, 2013: 5:00 p.m. * Reception for the senior class, their parents and faculty at the Head of School’s House; 5:45 p.m. * Performing Arts Sampler at the Head of School’s house; 6:00 p.m. * Dinner for seniors, parents and faculty at the Head of School’s house; 7:30 p.m. * Performing Arts Sampler on the Quad; 8:00 p.m. * Baccalaureate Night, Brady Hall * Student Art Show, Avery Gallery

Saturday, June 1: 8:00 a.m. * Continental breakfast for seniors, their parents and faculty at the Head of School’s house; 9:30 a.m. * 63rd Commencement on the Quad.

Remember it’s not too late to apply to attend VVS! Verde Valley School is accepting applications for 9th, 10th and 11th grades for the 2013/2014 school year. Applying is easy. Just visit www.vvsaz.org/admission.
