Prescott AZ (June 27, 2012)Yavapai County Supervisor A.G. “Chip” Davis presented Bob Farster with the June 2012 Unsung Hero of the Month Award during a June 20 recognition ceremony.

The award is called “Unsung” because it recognizes those individuals that don’t seek the limelight or the spotlight and, as Supervisor Davis says, these are “great people who do good things.”

Bob has been an active member of the MATFORCE Speakers Bureau since November 2007. He has made over 458 presentations to 10,505 students. He not only speaks to entire classrooms of students but works individually with students at several schools who struggle with drug use, come from homes with drug addictions, and who have severe emotional problems.

Bob shares his personal story of addiction and the consequences he faced of losing his family and health. He shares his path to recovery and his success of being sober. His main goal is to help the youth of Yavapai County to keep from going down the path he experienced. His commitment comes from his heart and passion.

Bob says that he “has come to realize that if he can change one person’s outcome, the snowball effect of that will be great.” Bob Farster is truly an Unsung Hero.

The radio show was simultaneously videotaped by the Yavapai Broadcasting Company. The video is available for viewing at VerdeValleytv.com. The SedonaEye.com is proud to recognize Bob Farster, Unsung Hero, for being a great Yavapai County role model.
