Taxpayer Education Sessions on New Tax Payment Process

Sedona AZ (October 11, 2010)–On Tuesday, September 28, 2010, the Sedona City Council approved a contract with Revenue Discovery Systems (RDS) for third-party sales tax collections on behalf of the City.   

As a result, effective with tax payments due from February 20, 2011 forward, the City of Sedona’s portion of the sales taxes due will be processed by RDS.  Only the state and county portions of the taxes due will continue to be sent to the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) using the Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) Form 1. 

RDS, in partnership with the City of Sedona, the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, and the Sedona Main Street Program are hosting a series of taxpayer education sessions as follows: 

November 3, 2010 at the Sedona Public Library, 3250 White Bear Road, Sedona, AZ 86336

1.      From 7:30 AM until 9:00 AM, and

2.      From 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM 

November 4, 2010 at the Wayside Chapel, Jordan Hall, 401 North State Road 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336

3.      From 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM, and

4.      From 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM

At these meetings, tax experts from RDS will present the new tax payment process and answer any questions from attendees.  All individuals interested or involved in paying sales taxes are encouraged to attend.

In addition to these meetings, information regarding these changes will be placed on the ADOR website, www.azdor.gov, will be emailed by ADOR to online filers, and will be placed in mailings from ADOR notifying of the changes.  Furthermore, RDS will be sending out the new process to each taxpayer at their official address on record with ADOR.
