Tax Override Money Supports Dumber Curriculum and Kids

education dollarsSedona AZ (October 23, 2013) – The following is a letter to the SedonaEye.com editor about the local school district curriculum and its request for tax override funding:

Dear Board Members and Superintendent,

Is this below pasted article or any variation of, type of curriculum being promoted and taught within the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District? Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated.

I do know according to your own web-page links, you are currently teaching ‘Common Core’ (soft-core) Communism, Agenda 21 material.

mingus union logoFurthermore, I must say, I am outraged at the current ‘Special Election’ ballot being circulated for extension of the current Budget Over-ride, desiring to saddle all of us cost conscious, fixed income, and budget minded people in the Cottonwood area to continuing higher taxes. You all ought to be ashamed for even bringing this matter up.

So, let me get this straight; what you really are proposing is more money for dumber kids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx4pN-aiofw

Spend, Spend, Spend and Learn Less, Less, Less

A Harvard study found no relevant correlation between increasing the per-pupil spending and gains in test scores. In 2009, the U.S. spent more than $10,000 per student, ranging from $6,356 in Utah to $18,126 in New York. Utah graduates a higher percentage of its students than does New York.

Yet, school funding is the number one reason given by government officials to support the need to impose a property tax on American citizens. Property tax is one of the planks of the Communist Party. As an aside, property taxes are the reason you never really own your home. You are tenants-in-common with the government and banksters in the ownership of your home. Therefore, you can never stop generating income (i.e. tax revenue) or you will lose your home as we embrace more Soviet style philosophies across the board with regard to taxation, healthcare and now, education.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is this how you all run your own personal finances; continuing to spend when you don’t have the funds? May I ask; if your credit cards are maxed out and you’re paying low or minimum payments, does your bank increase your credit limit at your request? Of course they won’t, as you must live within your credit limit or they recall the card and you default. All of this is very simple math, which it appears none of you seem to grasp, even with advanced degrees……Absolutely amazing!
Even a pre-K child knows you don’t spend what you don’t have, and we the mostly frugal taxpayers are not a perpetual milking machine that you all can continue to squeeze all the nutrients out of for your own agendas and excessive salaries…..
BTW – I noticed that the upper staff and manager’s salaries are conveniently hidden from view on your web-site. Where might I find the current numbers?
The Population Control Agenda Is Being Relentlessly Pushed In American Public Schools
By Michael Snyder, on October 22nd, 2013
Do you want your kids to be taught that the earth has too many people and that they should have no more than two children for the good of the planet? Yes, I know that this sounds absolutely crazy, but this is actually the kind of propaganda that is being forced upon our young people all over America. The population control agenda is being relentlessly pushed in high school textbooks, in classroom instruction and by outside organizations that are given constant access to our high school students.
As you will see below, the number one population control organization in the United States, Planned Parenthood, conducts nearly 900 presentations in high schools in the Los Angeles area every single year. And the population control propaganda gets even worse once our kids go off to college. I know – I spent eight years in the classroom at U.S. public universities and most parents would be absolutely horrified to learn what their children are being taught.
These days, the population control propaganda is becoming more blatant than ever. Recently, Father John Hollowell was walking down the halls of an Indiana high school when he came across the following banner hanging above some lockers…
Zero Population Growth
Display in an Indiana high school
The following is how Hollowell described his reaction when he first spotted this banner…
At first when I walked past the sign I thought to myself – “Oh, cool, they’re starting to catch on that our population levels are at a critical phase and that we’re heading for a demographic winter because no one is having kids anymore; they’re trying to get the word out that our population growth is trending towards a crisis….”
Then I literally had a sick feeling in my stomach when I realized I had the sign completely wrong.
The math “project” hanging in the hallway reads – “Zero Population Growth…It’s Up To You – No More Than Two”
My jaw hit the floor. Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood’s “Theology” on full display in our public schools.
You can’t probably read the sign but it has one smiley face representing 10 million people…and I mean look at the sign…if people keep having kids the smiley faces won’t fit in the box anymore! Look how scientific it is (sarcasm).
Sadly, this was not an isolated incident. The truth is that this type of philosophy is being relentlessly pounded into the heads of our teens.
Today, Planned Parenthood is allowed to directly teach kids about sex, pregnancy and birth control in high schools all over America. If you can believe it, Planned Parenthood actually has a clinic inside one Los Angeles high school. And according to the official Planned Parenthood website, Planned Parenthood delivers close to 900 presentations to high school students in the Los Angeles area every single year…
Planned Parenthood Los Angeles’ high school sexuality education program focuses on the important decisions that young people have to make about their sexuality and offers information and resources that enable teens to take responsibility and make healthy choices, including abstinence. Educational sessions are presented to ninth grade students, with an effort to provide a comfortable and informative learning experience. Topics include: Sexuality, Teen Pregnancy, Healthy Bodies, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s), and Birth Control. Sessions are facilitated by trained speakers credentialed by Planned Parenthood who have undergone a rigorous 40-hour training course. The High School program conducts almost 900 presentations each year by invitation to over 30 schools, and serves Metropolitan Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, and other areas, based on availability.
And it is important to remember that Planned Parenthood is far from a “neutral” organization. In fact, the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, once made the following statement… “The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.” Is that what you want your kids to be taught?
Planned Parenthood Programs also promote and public school systems assist in numerous sex education programs:
http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/21-signs-that-u-s-public-schools-have-become-training-centers-for-sexual-deviancy
At this point, Planned Parenthood performs more than 300,000 abortions every single year, and a staggering 72 percent of Planned Parenthood’s “customers” have incomes that are either equal to or beneath 150 percent of the federal poverty level.
They specifically target poor people, and this is an organization that actually believes in post-birth abortion…
Florida legislators considering a bill to require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion were shocked during a committee hearing this week when a Planned Parenthood official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.
Alisa LaPolt Snow, the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, testified that her organization believes the decision to kill an infant who survives a failed abortion should be left up to the woman seeking an abortion and her abortion doctor.
“So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief,” said Rep. Jim Boyd. “If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”
population
And of course the folks from Planned Parenthood are absolutely showered with funding by the federal government and they make a lot of money doing what they do.
According to one report, there are 30 Planned Parenthood executives that make more than $200,000 a year, and a few of them actually make more than $300,000 a year.
Overall, more than 55 million abortions have been performed since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973 and there is no indication that this is going to stop any time soon.
In fact, progressives are always seeking to do even more to push the population control envelope.
In a recent Slate article entitled “Canada Has Death Panels (And that’s a good thing)“, one liberal blogger suggested that the United States should consider copying Canadian death panels…
Last week Canada’s Supreme Court ruled that doctors could not unilaterally ignore a Toronto family’s decision to keep their near-dead husband and father on life support. In the same breath, however, the court also confirmed that, under the laws of Ontario, Canada’s most populous province, a group of government-appointed adjudicators could yet overrule the family’s choice. That tribunal, not the family or the doctors, has the ultimate power to pull the plug.
In other words: Canada has death panels.
European Union
European Parliament voted on Oct 22 2013 to reject a report which recommended that EU nations declare abortion a human right and that abortion services be made legal, safe, and accessible within the public-health systems of every EU member state. Three hundred and fifty one MPs voted to send the bill adopting the report back to committee, while 319 voted to kill the report outright.
And in Europe things are even worse.
In the Netherlands, mobile euthanasia teams are now going door to door to help elderly patients end their lives in the comfort of their own homes. And the European Parliament has been considering a proposal that would officially make abortion a “human right”…
The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Union passed a draft report last month declaring that abortion is a “human right”.
This week, the European Parliament will vote on that measure, and if passed, could have devastating effects throughout Europe. It also shows the lengths abortion advocates will go to in order to not only make abortion legal, but widespread… even if it means trampling on individual rights. (SedonaEye.com editor’s note: Please see caption update for EU vote results of October 22, 2013.)
In many of my previous articles, I have discussed how the global elite love population control, but they are not alone. Over the past several decades they have convinced most people living in the western world to willingly get on board with the population control agenda.
At this point, even most Americans are “sheeple” that go along with whatever their televisions tell them to think.
This was illustrated beautifully by Mark Dice recently. He asked random people to sign a petition supporting a “Nazi-style Orwellian police state” and many signed the petition without even thinking about it…
So, is there any hope for us now in our dumbed-down American culture?
    How the NAEP-TIMSS Linking Study Works
    NCES coordinated efforts across the NAEP and TIMSS assessment programs to conduct the 2011 NAEP-TIMSS linking study. The National Assessment Governing Board and NCES modified the NAEP assessment schedule so that eighth-graders in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense schools (referred to as “states” or U.S. states) could be assessed in mathematics and science in 2011.
    The NAEP-TIMSS linking study used states’ NAEP scores to predict performance on TIMSS. Nine states participated in 2011 TIMSS at the state level. In the linking study, their actual TIMSS scores were used to validate their predicted results.
    To learn more about the TIMSS report visit http://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/studies/naep_timss/
    The 38 countries and 9 subnational education systems from various countries that assessed eighth-graders in 2011 TIMSS are all referred to as “education systems” on this website and in the report. Results in mathematics and science are reported as average scores on the TIMSS scale (0–1,000, with an average of 500).
    Cautions in Interpreting NAEP Results
    NAEP assessment results make it possible to examine relationships between students’ academic performance and the varied background information collected by NAEP. A relationship that exists between achievement and another variable, however, does not reveal its underlying cause, which may be influenced by a number of other variables. Simple or causal inferences related to, for example, student group membership, the effectiveness of public and nonpublic schools, and state- or district-level education systems cannot be drawn using NAEP results.
  2. The reading of dozens of the pros and cons has left me feeling pulled in two directions. After reading the above comment and other writers now shows me the falseness of claims Education needs additional money here. Thank you for publishing this wonderfully educative dialogue. I prefer you’re not known as SedonaEye because any news with the name Sedona limits its appeal. That said, a fine publication!
  3. John Mitchell and Michael Snyder: Thank God we have people of your caliber, wisdom and courage in the Verde Valley. And Beverly, please let me say that so many like you are faced with your initial confusion due to information overload, but I’m impressed that you figured it out.
  5. Glenn says:
    Some seem to think there is no limit to how many people can be supported on earth, but just like a bus there is a limit that can be taken care of. The big problem is the people least able to take care of the kids are the one’s having the most of them. I see nothing wrong with teaching kids the facts of life and giving them a choice, especially since today parents or parent are less involved with their children than those of the past. It seems like everything today is a major issue and if it is not someone makes sure it becomes one.
