Social Media Town Hall

Pinal County Courthouse

Pinal County Courthouse

Sedona AZ (March 10, 2010) – If Facebook were a country, as of December 2009, Facebook would be the fourth largest country in the world. More impressive, in January 2009, it would have been the eighth largest country. Three million “tweets” are posted on Twitter daily. Five billion minutes are spent on Facebook each day.

Why should you care? Savvy businesses, individuals, entrepreneurs and governments are using social media to connect with individuals, to do business and to solve problems. Exploiting Technology for Success:  Building Connections Using Social Media is the topic of the 2010 Pinal County Town Hall, which runs from April 28 to 30, 2010.

Social media is an umbrella term that defines the various activities that integrate technology, social interaction, and the construction, words, pictures, video, and audio (Wikipedia). Simply put, social media is a fancy way to describe activity occurring on the Internet that allows people to have conversations and share ideas, photos, video and audio clips.

The 23rd Pinal County Town Hall will focus its attention on this new way to communicate with your neighbors, customers, and the world. During the course of the event, Town Hall will help delegates answer some of the following questions:<

  • What is social media/networking and how do I use it?
  • If I use social media, what’s in it for me? Why should I care?
  • What are the dangers of social media?
  • How do I conquer my fear of using this new form of communication?
  • What are the risks and rewards of social media?
  • How is social media technology being used today and how will it be used in the future?
  • How can I use it to improve my business, connect with my local government, or build personal connections?
  • How can social media be used to further educational opportunities?
  • Be a part of a dynamic group of business leaders, elected or appointed officials and entrepreneurs who are attending the 23rd Pinal County Town Hall. Become a Delegate today and join leaders from across Pinal County to develop strategies to harness the power of this emerging and changing technology to improve the local economy, connect residents with vital and needed services, inform the public and connect Pinal County with the world.
