Thomas Bolton of Wilhoit, AZ convicted

Sedona AZ (July 1, 2015) – On June 9, 2015, Thomas Bolton was sentenced by the Honorable Judge Tina Ainley of the Yavapai Superior Court to fourteen years in the Arizona Department of Corrections on charges of Sexual Assault and Kidnapping, each a Class Two felony. Bolton was found guilty on all counts by a Yavapai County jury.

Bolton received a fourteen year prison term on the Sexual Assault charge and a ten year prison term for Kidnapping. The sentences are to run concurrently. The sentence for Sexual Assault is classified as ‘flat time’ which means Bolton must serve all time with no exceptions.

In the original YCSO release issued September 9, 2014, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report that Bolton, 49, of Wilhoit, Arizona, violated court ordered conditions by harassing his minor-aged victim in front of a Wilhoit business. Out on bond with specific conditions of release, Bolton violated those conditions by having contact with the victim. He was charged with Sexual Assault and Sexual Conduct with the minor in 2013. The trial is scheduled for October 2014.

Deputies learned that on September 7, 2014, Bolton drove into a business parking lot and blocked the path of the victim and friend’s vehicle. Bolton began screaming at the pair and intimidating the victim, who was extremely fearful of Bolton in light of his past behavior and the pending court case. Bolton eventually left after the victim and her friend entered the business to seek help.

The following morning, September 8, 2014, deputies located Bolton at his home and arrested him for charges including Harassment, Disorderly Conduct, Disobeying a Judicial Order and felony Aggravated Harassment. He is being held without bond.
