Poco Diablo McGuire: It’s Sedona Yappy Hour Time

SedonaEye.com Poco Diablo McGuire says bring his Four Paws Up Pals to Sedona Posse Grounds Park every Thursday morning at  8:00 a.m. for fun in the sun.

Sedona AZ – Spring has sprung and it’s time for Yappy Hour summer hours. Beginning April 1, 2019, Yappy Hour will be 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and will be in effect through October 31, 2019.

Join Parks and Recreation for Yappy Hour every Thursday on the grass of the multi-use field at Posse Grounds Park, 525 Posse Ground Road. This is your four-legged friend’s opportunity to run and socialize with other dogs. Per city code and park rules, dogs are not allowed on park athletic fields and must be on a leash, but, during this program, we get to bend those rules.

Important tips to remember and share with fellow dog owners so that this program may continue: Owners are responsible for the safety and behavior of their dogs, must pick up after their pets, and observe city code and park rules outside of program hours. If there is a high volume of violators using the fields during non-program hours, this program will be discontinued.

Hi Poco. My name is Little Bit and I’m a new kid (pet, doggie) in Sedona and I look very much like you! Think maybe we’re relations? This sounds like a fun thing to do but I might be afraid with a bunch of loose doggies. My human parents are thinking about trying it though. We’ll see.

My humans Kris & Sauly call me the Mack Attack because I love food. I love Sedona too.
    Paws up!

where in Village can dogs go off leash? No way will go to Sedona or Cottonwood & not trained enough to be w/o fence. Thx

    school area

  5. Barbara says:

@stan west side Sedona, Cottonwood have fenced parks, Kiwanis Park VOC allows pets near VOCA building. Be sure to scoop these are our human spaces also. Don’t go near Big Park school to keep children safe. Your dogs need to be better trained. You live in a high desert & they need to not roam for their own safety & human/animal safety. We have snakes, coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions to name a few can attack at any time.

  6. Dan says:

Yavapai County has leash laws. Obey them.
