Sedona AZ (July 24, 2015) – On July 20, 2015, at 11:15 in the evening, a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped to check on a vehicle parked alongside AZ State Highway 179, near mile marker 301, Sedona, Arizona. The blue 1993 Toyota sedan was stopped near the fog line without its lights on. The deputy spoke with 28-year-old Christopher Moore and the car’s driver, 49-year-old Kristi Jameson, both from the Sedona area. Jameson stated they were on their way to Rimrock from the Village of Oak Creek and had pulled over to ‘look at the stars.’ During a routine check of Jameson’s Oklahoma driver’s license, the deputy discovered a valid warrant involving a drug charge in her name.

When initially contacted, passenger Moore gave the last name of Richards, and claimed he had no identification with him and could not remember his Social Security number. After eventually providing a home address in Sedona, a records check by address revealed his true last name was Moore. At that time, Moore confirmed he had lied to avoid detection on a probation violation warrant out of Coconino County, however, an additional narcotics possession warrant for Moore was also discovered for Maricopa County.

With the pair in custody, YCSO deputies checked the vehicle prior to towing. Inside Jameson’s purse were two glass meth pipes, related paraphernalia, and a forged bank check. A black computer case apparently belonging to Moore contained four new syringes, a passport not issued in Moore’s name, blank bank checks, a laptop computer, and several flash drives. Deputies also found Moore’s Arizona driver’s license which he denied possessing when earlier asked. In common areas of the vehicle, deputies found more than a dozen forged checks in various names, along with a pill bottle containing methamphetamine.

During review of the forgery and fraud evidence, deputies discovered that an area police agency was investigating Moore for similar crimes. Follow-up is ongoing as to Moore’s identity theft and fraud operation.

Both suspects were booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on the warrants. Moore was also charged with possession of a forged instrument, providing false information, forgery, fraudulent schemes, and possession of a dangerous drug. He is in custody on a $17,975 bond.

Jameson’s charges include Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Forged Instrument. She remains in custody on a $4,375 bond.
