Sedona Rotarian David Simmer Honored

David Simmer (L), Rotarian of the Year and Rotary District 5490 Governor Craig Wilson

Sedona AZ (August 8, 2012) – Rotarian David Simmer was honored by Rotary District 5490 Governor Craig Wilson as Outstanding Rotarian 2012-13 at its regular Rotary Club of Sedona July meeting.

Simmer serves as Secretary for the Sedona club and is instrumental in the development of its Imagination Library Project. He received a RB Designs original plaque to acknowledge his Rotary leadership.

Governor Wilson visits each club annually to update Rotarians on Rotary successes in building community throughout Arizona and internationally with its Rotary International. Wilson thanked the club for its work to improve literacy through the Imagination Library Project and noted the success of the Great Sedona Chili Cook-off.

The club acknowledged the Governor’s visit by pledging “Happy Bucks” raised by Sergeant at Arms Harry Grossman to Wilson’s favorite charity, the Homeless Youth Connection.

The Rotary Club of Sedona meets every Tuesday noon at the Barking Frog Grille, west Sedona. The club’s mission is to enhance community through service, teamwork, and friendship.
