Sedona Parks and Recreation Members Appointed

The Sedona City Council recently appointed Rand Decker and Janice Gruneberg to the Parks and Recreation Commission.  The members will serve three-year terms.


Commissioners serve as a communication link between citizens, the Parks and Recreation Department and the City Council.  They are responsible for supporting the City’s goals and objectives and for providing useful, accurate, and timely information to the staff and City Council regarding public open space, trails, City parks, and recreational opportunities. 


Commission meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at Sedona City Hall, 102 Roadrunner Drive.


There is currently an additional vacancy on the Commission for a one-year term.  Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011.  For more information and an application, visit the City’s website at www.SedonaAZ.gov under the Your Government drop down menu and click on Commissions and select Apply or stop by the City Clerk’s office at Sedona City Hall, 102 Roadrunner Drive.

Applications will be accepted from residents living outside of the City limits, but only if they have a direct connection to the City corporation limits, including, but not limited to situations such as being an employee within the City limits or owning a business within the City limits.
