Sedona OLLI Facilitators Needed

Osher Lifelong Learners

Sedona AZ (May 27 2011)–An anonymous author is said to have stated, “The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book.” The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) of Sedona and the Verde Valley at Yavapai College, has a team of volunteer facilitators that share their time, passions, dreams, and life lessons from the heart.

OLLI of Sedona and the Verde Valley is a dynamic organization within Yavapai College created to meet the needs of intellectually active mature adults.  What makes OLLI a unique learning experience is that there is no pressure of tests, grades, or papers.  It is a gathering of people who are endlessly curious and love to learn.

OLLI is accepting proposals for the Fall semester, which is set to commence September 26, 2011.  You do not have to be a retired professor from a university to offer a class or workshop.  If you feel that you have valuable life experience, have researched a topic well in your life, are a professional that might have valuable information for mature adults, or have a passion for a craft or hobby, you can be an OLLI facilitator.  There is no greater reward than to share what you love with others.  OLLI students come to class because they genuinely want to learn and meet new people.

OLLI is accepting facilitator proposals until June 1, 2011 for the Fall Semester. For more information, and to request a facilitator proposal form, please call 928-649-4275. Visit OLLI on the web at www.yc.edu/lifelonglearners.

you know we tried to be supportive of this campus but under its current administration it’s dysfunctional at best and ineffective at worst and its handling of schedules, facilitators and student fees is atrocious

now that i’ve spouted off, let me say that it is a community gem and needs support so bear with it until needed change happens
