Sedona Offers American Red Cross Lifeguarding Courses

Sedona Community Pool

Sedona Community Pool is the site for Red Cross lifeguard training this fall

Sedona AZ (August 17, 2013) – While predicting when an emergency will occur is impossible, becoming prepared to handle an emergency is not. In less time than one might think, American Red Cross training can give an individual the vital knowledge and skills needed to respond to a life-threatening situation with confidence.

City of Sedona Parks and Recreation department, in cooperation with certified American Red Cross Instructor John Lancaster Beck, will offer Red Cross Lifeguarding courses this fall. Classes will include Lifeguard Certifications, First Aid, CPR and AED.

Classes must be registered in advance to insure that the class minimum is reached and that the class will be held. The Professional Lifeguarding course begins September 5, 2013, with a second session beginning October 3.

This class is beneficial for anyone interested in becoming a lifeguard next summer. All classes offer on-line registration at www.SedonaAZ.gov/Parks. Classes are found under the Sports and Specialty Classes menu.

For additional information, contact the City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Department at (928) 282-7098.
