Sedona Labs Recalls Salmonella Contaminated Kids Products

i floraCottonwood AZ (July 9, 2012)Sedona Labs of Cottonwood, Arizona announced that its supplier of Galactooligosaccharide (GOS) has recalled the ingredient due to a possible Salmonella contamination. As a result, Sedona Labs is now voluntarily recalling certain lots of its iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® and iFlora(tm) 4-Kids Powder distributed between 3/16/2011 and 5/3/2012.

The following lots with corresponding UPC codes are included in the recall:

Salmonella is a germ which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the germ getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses.

Customers possessing these products should immediately discontinue its use. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® or iFloraTM 4-Kids Powder.

Sedona Labs is not based in Sedona, Arizona, although some of its products are sold in Sedona. Sedona Labs was purchased by Atrium Innovations Incorporated in 2008, a developer, manufacturer and marketer of dietary and nutritional health supplements.
