Sedona Kids Photo Hunt and Hike

Sedona AZ (April 26, 2012) – The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Department invites young and older to get off the couch and enjoy nature during its Kids Photo Hunt and Hike program. Children ages six to twelve can take photographs and learn about the surrounding nature and history at Jordan Historical Park in uptown Sedona and Posse Grounds Park in west Sedona.

Children and parents will enjoy a unique hour-long guided adventure through the parks beginning May 12, 2012. This Parks and Recreation program is free and includes four adventures on the second Saturday of each month throughout the summer.

Park Rangers will lead children and adults on a search for a list of predetermined items followed by a discussion and photograph of each discovery. Young journalists must bring his or her own camera. After successfully photographing each item, children may develop their photographs and create an adventure field journal to take home. Field journals will be provided.

Four opportunities will be offered to participate in a Kids Photo Hunt and Hike. All hikes start promptly at 8:30 a.m. and park locations vary depending on the date. There is no fee to participate.
