Sedona AZ (December 10, 2014) – The following is a letter to the SedonaEye.com editor that asks Arizonans to tell the state to keep monopolies from usurping freedom of energy choice, that the sun cannot be owned by APS, TEP or any utility:
We want energy choice and independence, and solar provides that. The utilities are trying to hold onto their monopoly and continue to make you buy centralized power. Solar is the American way.
The Arizona Corporation Commission postponed the hearing on APS and TEP’s attempts to monopolize rooftop solar to next week. With your help and attendance, we will stop APS and TEP’s latest scheme to stomp out competition from solar companies.
Join us Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at 9 a.m. Together with Tell Utilities Solar won’t be Killed (TUSK), we will gather at the Arizona Corporation Commission in Phoenix to speak out.
The ACC needs to hear that those who elected them oppose utility attempts to compete with rooftop solar installers using ratepayer funds.
APS should compete without sticking you, their customers, with the bill.
If you are unable to attend the hearing, you can still make your voice heard. Click here to send a letter the ACC, and tell them you oppose APS and TEP’s attempts to kill the solar industry.

Please also write your legislators and tell them to oppose two anti-solar bills.
The first would kill local jobs and impose unnecessary regulation on businesses. Urge legislators to oppose SB 1465.
The second would impose new taxes on unsuspecting homeowners with solar. Say NO to HB 2535 and new solar taxes.
