Oak Creek

Sedona AZ (February 3, 2015) – The City of Sedona and the Oak Creek Watershed Council will host a public screening of two documentaries, Bag It and Loved to Death: The Story of Oak Creek, at City Hall this month.

Loved to Death: The Story of Oak Creek is a short 17-minute film about the problems associated with the high amounts of recreation on Oak Creek. The film follows four individuals throughout the summer of 2014 as they collect trash and educate people about watersheds. This fun and educational documentary delivers insight into the effects overuse and litter have on our surrounding Southwest watershed environment.

Bag It is a fun and entertaining way to become informed how plastic bags impact our surroundings. The film covers such topics as plastic bag politics, single-use disposable packaging, recycling, plastic’s impact on human health, ocean pollution, and more. This film runs approximately 70 minutes.

The two documentaries will be shown in the Sedona City Council Chambers, 102 Roadrunner Drive, on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a discussion.

The City of Sedona welcomes citizen input on its role in the sustainability and stewardship of the surrounding natural environment. Find out what we’re doing now.
