Sedona AZ (September 23, 2015) – The following is a letter to the Sedona Times:
Sunday morning I watched Bill Clinton on the morning talk shows discussing his Global Initiative in dealing with hunger and poverty throughout the world. Then came Jimmy Carter on 60 Minutes talking about cutting oil imports in half during his administration and putting solar panels on the White House and federal buildings only to have Ronald Reagan have them ripped off. Watching these two men made me proud to be a Democrat and of the accomplishments the Democratic Party has made for America and the world. Of course, the right wing labeled Jimmy Carter the antichrist, and Bill Clinton the devil.
Then I watched Barak Obama’s town hall on CNBC answering questions from regular folks and some of the brightest minds in America and tried to imagine someone like Sarah Palin in the same situation and it’s laughable. Of course, the right labels Obama a Muslim/non-citizen/Hitler.
I am proud to be a Democrat and of the accomplishments of this administration. Having to deal with a staggering economy caused by two unpaid for wars and huge tax cuts, also unpaid for, has left this country in the worst position since the depression of the 1930s. I’m also proud that the half of the stimulus disbursed by this administration is accounted for and may even create a profit for the taxpayers.
In San Antonio, my daughter’s best friends were Muslim Arab twin girls. There was no fear of different races or cultures. Unlike “out here in real America” where fear and hatred of differences is promoted on the endless, mindless propaganda machine of right wing talk radio, Internet and FOX. This might be how Hitler came to power. He sent out his brown shirted tea baggers to promote fear and hatred of the Jews just like our right wing is promoting fear and hatred of the Muslims or anyone different. I Timothy 2:1: I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

You are a fool. Are you proud of the RADICAL remaking in Socialism which has failed 100% of the time throughout history. Are you proud of the FACT that since Pelosi became Speaker that national debt has DOUBLED. That deficits are 400% higher than under Bush? The list is endless. 67% of Americans did not want Obama care a complete disaster. Are you proud that Obama plans on running MULTI TRILLION deficits for ten year as outlined in HIS Plan. Every single economist of note in his administration has resigned under disgust over Obama’s REFUSAL to know that we ARE bankrupt. You are a complete fool!

Dear Ms. Wilmoth,
It is very hard to understand what you are proud of as a Democrat. Granted, some Republican congresses have not fared so well either. Maybe that’s why a lot of us have dropped party affiliation and have started to support men and women on the principals that built this country.
Under Carter there was an oil embargo. Less oil equated to substantially higher gas prices and created gas lines that were literally miles long. Some accomplishment. I sat in some of those lines. Not what I would hang my hat on. This is the same president that gave us 18 – 20% interest rates and inflation the likes this country has never seen devaluing the dollar and destroying personal savings.
