Processions for Phoenix Firefighter and Police Officer to Close I-17 and Loop 101

ADOT photoSedona AZ (May 23, 2013) – The funeral procession for fallen Phoenix firefighter Brad Harper will makes its way along sections of eastbound Loop 101 and southbound Interstate 17 on Friday afternoon, May 24, 2013. Drivers are asked to prepare for closures and use alternate routes between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday while the following restrictions are in place:

  • Eastbound Loop 101 closed between 75th Avenue and I-17. Westbound Loop 101 ramp to southbound I-17 also closed. On-ramps between Union Hills Drive and I-17 closed.
  • Southbound Interstate 17 closed between Loop 101 and McDowell Road. On-ramps between Loop 101 and McDowell Road closed.

A second procession, for fallen Phoenix police officer Daryl Raetz, is scheduled for late Saturday, May 25, 2013, in the morning along eastbound Loop 101. Drivers are asked to prepare for closures and use alternate routes between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday while the following restrictions are in place:

  • Eastbound Loop 101 closed between 75th Avenue and Seventh Street.
  • Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramps between Union Hills Drive and Seventh Avenue.
  • North and southbound I-17 ramps to eastbound Loop 101 closed.

Please plan your travels to allow for delays.
