Prescott Motorcycle Rider Loses Life

Prescott AZ (April 8, 2012)  – Just after 7:15 PM on Sunday, April 8, 2012, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported motorcycle accident on Williamson Valley Road near Pemberton Drive, Prescott Arizona. Deputies arrived as Emergency Medical Service personnel were tending a motorcycle rider thrown from his 2001 Harley Davidson bike and found lying in bushes along the roadside. The rider was eventually identified as a 44-year-old Prescott resident. His name is being withheld pending family notification.*

Witnesses to the accident rendered aid while awaiting fire personnel but the rider was unresponsive. EMS crews transported the motorcyclist to Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, and he was eventually flown to John C. Lincoln in Phoenix for treatment. As the investigation continued, deputies learned the rider died at the hospital a short time after admittance. He suffered severe chest trauma and head injuries.

Deputies confirmed he had not been wearing a helmet.

YCSO deputies spoke with a driver who saw the motorcycle pass him on the right traveling north in excess of 60 mph just before the accident. The investigation is ongoing as to exact cause of the accident. An autopsy on the rider is pending.

    He most certainly was not done with his duties here on earth. He left behind a community full of residents who loved him, including me and my two children. We were engaged to be married. This Saturday, instead of marrying the man I was supposed to spend forever with, I will be mourning his loss at a memorial service.

    So, put another way, a helmet would not have made any difference due to the “severe chest trauma”.
