Polo by Gloria Rothrock

Polo, a gray cat, was at the shelter for over a year when Gloria Rothrock saw his picture at the bank. She didn’t want the responsibility of a pet but she couldn’t shake the memory of Polo’s eyes. When she came in to visit she fell in love and took him home. Polo spent the first week under the bed. He ventured out once and selected a small afghan to pull under the bed, almost like a security blanket. Gloria gave Polo his space and the day finally arrived when Polo ventured out and stayed out. It took 3 months for him to be totally comfortable and happy. Now Polo has become the “heart and soul” of the house. When Gloria comes home Polo jumps on the entry table and reaches his paws to Gloria’s shoulders for a hug and so she can tell him how much she loves him. Gloria says, “The Universe gifted me with this magical little leprechaun in a cat suit!
