Overnight AZ Interstate 17 Closures

ADOT Interstate 17 logoSedona AZ (September 29, 2013)Overnight work on Arizona Interstate 17 (AZ I-17) north of Black Canyon City requires intermittent closures for work related to a maintenance and paving project.

The closures will be about 15 minutes each and will take place between Midnight and 3:00 a.m., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights (September 30 – October 2):   Traffic will be stopped on AZ I-17 near Coldwater Canyon Road by law enforcement personnel.

The closures provide a safe work zone for crews as they remove debris and large boulders from behind the concrete barrier along the roadway.

In addition to the intermittent closures, traffic will be narrowed to one lane through the project work zone between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly Monday through Thursday.

The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
