Open House for Community Planning Room

Sedona AZ (November 8, 2011) – The City of Sedona and the Citizens Steering Committee for the new Community Plan are delighted to announce the opening of your public Community Plan Room at an Open House on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.

 

This event will be held in the Community Plan Room at the Vista del Norte building located at 1725 West State Route 89A, Suite D (on the southeast corner of Northview Road and 89A) in Sedona. Serving as an active design studio and a public gathering space, the Room will be initially open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. each week.

 

Two local architects who serve on the Citizens Steering Committee for the new Community Plan are donating professional architectural, planning and design assistance, especially during the development of alternative future visions.  Their work-in-progress will be on display in the Community Planning Room.

 

The Room will also contain copies of past plans, maps, other communities’ successes and be a repository for public comments and professional articles. In short, everything you ever wanted to know about the Sedona New Community Plan will be available at this convenient location.

    Community Plan Public Comments On-Line!

    Have you wondered what your neighbors and friends have been saying about the future of Sedona? Do you think they sound like you and express your points of view and perspective?

    The City of Sedona has now posted all the comments that have been made to date on our website. This exhaustive public input has been gathered through a number of ways: the website portal, Idea Form, e-mail, letters, community events and programs, topic workshops, and from neighbors and organizations hosting a Community Plan Party in a Box.

    To view comments, go to http://www.SedonaAZ.gov, click on Community drop down menu and click on Community Plan Update. More information will be added as other community outreach activities occur. There is still plenty of time for you to participate in the new Community Plan and to get involved in 2012 when alternative scenarios will be presented and discussed.
