Men in Pink Heals

On August 5 2010, Jerome Arizona will host the annual Pink Heals! Kick-off event as the Men in Pink get ready to roll pink fire engines on a nationwide Cares Enough to Wear Pink Campaign against Cancer tour.

The Town of Jerome and the Foundation at Verde Valley Medical Center, a 501-3-c, will use Pink Heals! donations and funds to help local women acquire prosthetics, wigs, counseling– whatever is needed.

So come on out to Jerome! Get in the pink Thursday, August 5th! Bring the entire family, gather friends and round up the neighbors! $5 Dinners! Raffles! Prizes! T-shirt sales! Help send a message to Verde Valley women that Pink Heals! Evening festivities begin at 4 PM!

Interesting Think Pink Heals! facts:

  • The Pink Heals! Tour fire engines follow a nationwide road route in the shape of a ribbon.
  • The Guardians of the Ribbon and its Pink Heals! Tour is a non-profit organization that drives PINK fire trucks across the United States to support women in their fight against cancer and inspire men to get involved.
  • The organization was started in Phoenix, Arizona by firefighter Dave Graybill.
  • The Pink Heals! Tour raises cancer awareness and local funds for local use.
  • Organizations, such as the police and fire departments, are asked to be supportive examples for local women fighting cancer by wearing Pink when the Pink Heals! Tour campaign rolls into town
  • Local politicians, teachers, students, medical professionals and citizens of each community are asked to help support the Pink Heals! Kick-off event.
  • For more information on Jerome’s Pink Heals! Kick-off event, contact Rosemarie Shemaitis, the Town of Jerome’s Deputy Clerk at (928) 634-7943.

The Men in Pink of the Pink Heals! Tour do not believe that pinstands for a disease. The Men in Pink of the Pink Heals! Tour wear pink because PINK HEALS!  Come stand in pink with them for the women of the Verde Valley on Thursday, August 5 2010, in beautiful Jerome, Arizona.
